Need a Story Idea? Try This

Writing is an art. Writing a story is really easy once you get the hang of it. Although it is easier than writing a poem, coming up with a story idea can be daunting. Do you agree with this? If yes, you have come to the right place.
Once you come up with the idea of a story, you can pen down all your words on paper. “But how do I come up with the idea for my story?” is your question, right? If so, today I am sharing the method I use for coming up with a story idea. It is called the Story Recipe Technique. Curious to know more about it? Read on.
1. Make a list of your favourite stories and books (at least five). It can be any story of the desired theme and genre.
2. What is your favourite part of the story? Is it the theme? Or the selection of characters? You can come up with anything. If you're not sure of what is your favourite part, you can use the list I have given:
- Theme
- Genre
- Characters
- Plot
- Emotion
3. Mix them up! That is why it is called the Story Recipe Technique. Add a large portion of the theme and genre. Add some characters to balance them. And, how can we forget the plot? The order the more important than the ingredients. And finally, check if the emotion and idea you are trying to get out are throughout the story.
That’s it! This is the Story Recipe Technique. If you're still not sure how to use this, fear not. Comment your doubts below and I'll be happy to answer them.
